Introduction to AutoPligg desktop article submitting step by step guide to link building
This is part one of six videos explaining the software functions and how to use them all in an easy to understand format.
I have tried to make these videos in order with the work flow tabs at the top of the screen but you do have to jump between different tabs at certain times. The first video Pligg Directory Containers controls your database i.e. importing your target URL’s and storing them under easy to find labels for later use.
This also covers directory maintenance, removing broken directories i.e. your target URL’s if sites have gone off line for any reason.
Number of threads
We also go over here the number of threads, this is a guideline for you to start off with 10 treads for 256kb 10/25 for 512kbs upload speed. As said in the video it is limited by your internet line upload speed. But if you are running a Windows operating system, Microsoft will have probably limited your TCPIP.SYS to 50 simultaneous connections at any one time. I think this was implemented with Windows XP Service Pack 2 to slow down the spread of viruses etc.
To see if you are exceeding your limit in Windows XP go to your control panel, double click Administrative Tools and then click on Event Viewer, then click on System. I believe the error message you will be looking for is under Type error And Source Tcpip. If you a lot of these error messages it is telling you there are too many concurrent connection attempts. For Windows XP there is a Tcp IP patch available on the internet to lift this restriction, “but use at your own risk”. It works for me.
Account Containers
Container management
This section is pretty straight forward. This is where you make and delete the label names to store your imported URL’s.
Check Accounts
This is also straight forward it is for removing dead accounts that for whatever reason the software cannot log into. The only ones it will not remove are system timeouts, so if the domain is online but responding very slowly it will not remove it.
Register Accounts
This is where you choose the label to register accounts.
You can register accounts to just one label by selecting the label in the top drop down box and leaving the drop down box below set to “none” or if you have multiple labels you can select two labels at the same time to register accounts to by selecting one label in the top drop down box and a different label in the second drop down box or you can select to shuffle directories and this will create accounts on each and every one of your labels.
For user name and passwords and emails you have two options, option one is to let the software generate random user names, passwords etc for you. You do this by using the append to random name, just add in letters or numbers into the text box and this will activate this.
The second option is to use the Custom Userdata which is defined in the config tab. To go to the config tab and fill in the fields under the Custom Userdata for your username, password and email. Note If you are using the paid decapture.com service you will want to put in a valid email address to activate the accounts as many sites require email activation.

Post Story
The load/save story icons, these are available to you after you have filled in all the data on this page to save your article and all associated data to this window to reload it back into Autopligg at a later time if you need to.
Select the database label here you wish to post your articles to, name the story log field for your reference only in the stats.
The Title field, Story field and Links field all use the same format for spinning the content which is an opening bracket { | } a pipe delimiter and a closing bracket example:

Tags
Tags are the same as meta tags, just comma separated values.
Categories
Target your categories when you are scrapping your pligg domain URL’s. Use the format in url:category=your category key word phrase powered by pligg when scrapping Google.
Example :
inurl:index.php?category=SEO “powered by pligg”

Post Comment
For all intense and purpose this is the same as posting your article stories apart from to insert the link into the comment you need to use the #link# token to insert the link into the comment although it says to use this link token on the software I believe it could have been updated from #link# to {link}to spin your links use this format in the link window{Your domain|Your second domain URL|and so on}

Stats/Config/backup restore
Stats
This is straight forward, click the live stats button it will tell you the total URL’s in your directories, number of labels and total number of accounts you have. Select your story or comment label from the drop down boxes and it will return the URL’s of the domains you posted your articles or comments to and all these links will be live so that you can check your articles.
Config
Time outs in milliseconds, this affects importing URL’s, registering accounts and posting stories. A timeout is when a server does not respond within x amount of time. You can adjust this to your needs. One thousand millisecond = one second.
Ping List
If you fill this field in for the URL’s you wish to ping they will automatically pinged for you as the stories/articles are posted.
Proxy List
This is useful when you are using the paid Decapture.com service. As the Autopligg software decodes the ordinary decapture image itself but uses the paid Decapture.com service to decode the recaptcha images and as it seems the faster these images are pulled from the same URL the more obscured they become. By using proxy IP’s this overcomes the problem allowing you to register more Pligg accounts simultaneously. And it will obviously help if you are using the Ping List as servers often block you if you ping from the same URL too often. Check the fallback IP box and it will fallback to your IP if a proxy fails. Do not forget to click the save config button.
Backup/Restore
Backup Accounts backs up all your accounts to an XML file. Backup Targets backs up all your database target URL’s to an XML file. The Import AP4 Database is for users that have had the previous version of AutoPligg to import all their target URL’s and passwords from the old database. Restore Accounts and Restore Targets just restores the files you just backed up to AutoPligg Desktop.
